Three words: Mint Chocolate Chip. Franklin Fountain is a beloved staple right on 2nd street in Old City. Tourists and residents alike love this spot for its old-timey feel and the creamiest of selections. The flavors tend to sell out pretty quickly! But don’t worry, they added a pop up location not too far away at Spruce Street Harbor Park. Located less than a block away from the 2nd & Market Indego station, Franklin Fountain is an easy place to stop for a sweet summer treat. Heads up! This joint is cash only.

Nothing says “a summer in Philadelphia” like water ice–also known as “wooder ice.” Rita’s is the home of cream ice, italian ice and the infamous gelati–a cool combination of custard and italian ice. There are many Rita’s Water Ice locations throughout the city of Philadelphia, but we’ll recommend the one we frequent the most that’s a little up the street from the 15th & Spruce Indego station in Center City.

Philly Flavors, 2004 Fairmount Ave
