Introducing the 2022 Indego Community Ambassadors

The 2022 Indego Ambassador Community Ambassadors have their wheels on the ground! Over the summer, our Ambassadors will help a host of residents learn to ride and reconnect with city services and public resources. Keep reading to learn about our new and recurring Ambassador organizations, what they’re up to, and how you can stay in the know this season!

New Ambassadors

The Pursuit of Joy and Hope, working out of West and South Philadelphia, is a dynamic duo of Joy Burrell and Dena Short who see the need for our youth to have activities and services that are easy to access. Rose Clubhouse, located in the Mill Creek section of the city, works closely with youth in that area hosting a great Friday night hangout with lots of games and fun activities. We also want to introduce We Embrace Fatherhood, a young organization out of the Mantua area of the City. Derrick Pratt Sr. is committed to the intentional transformation of families and helping to produce real change in the lives of the people he serves. Rebecca Chan and Ava Schwemler from Friends of the Rail Park , located in Chinatown, are working to connect communities with a resource that is both a green space and a hidden treasure.

Alternative transportation and neighborhood connectivity is an integral part of our vision for the Rail Park and we are actively seeking partnerships with organizations in this space. Friends of the Rail Park is excited to be an Indego Ambassador as a partner in making bike share equitable, accessible, and inclusive for the communities that the Rail Park touches. We’re excited to get people on bikes, exploring the city and the many great spaces and places it has to offer!

This season we also have one ambassador, Teresa Saunders from Philly Counts,  a community champion working to make sure her community is in the know about Indego.

Recurring Ambassadors

Rounding off our 2022 Indego Community Ambassador team are a few returning partners. Real Life CDC , located in North Philadelphia engages youth at schools like Robert Morris Middle School and is committed to outreach throughout the Sharswood community. Karen Nichols and Tina Jordan are working to provide essential goods needed to their community while boosting the message about the importance of their mental health. Nicole Seahorn and Lee Scottlorde bring a city-wide perspective that includes ties to GirlTrek, Fairmount Park Conservancy, and Get Healthy Philly. Lastly, Nadera Oglesby, founder of High Heels and High Hopes, is strapping up her heels/sneakers to help our young ladies across the city.

The team at Indego wants to give our Ambassadors a big thank you for their dedication to serving their communities. We’re so excited to see the different ways they will use bike share to engage with local residents over the summer.
