Summer Classes and Rides

The Better Bike Share Partnership (BBSP) is an effort led by the City of Philadelphia that works to ensure that Indego bike share is accessible to all Philadelphians. The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is a non-profit advocacy and education organization working as part of the Better Bike Share Partnership to support bike share and biking education. The Better Bike Share Partnership is funded by the JPB Foundation.

With the arrival of summer, it’s the perfect time for people to familiarize themselves with the Better Bike Share Partnership’s programming and upcoming events. There are activities for everybody: from newcomers learning how to ride to savvy cyclists looking for a new experience. Here is a breakdown of upcoming classes and rides so that you can find the one that is perfect for you!

Adult Learn to Ride Class

These two-hour classes teach participants the basics of riding a bike and offer refreshers for anyone who simply hasn’t biked in a while. It’s a great way to gain confidence in the basics of biking!

Urban Riding Basics

Next Class: Thursday, July 26th
Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Location: 1901 Vine Street, the Freedom Library of Philadelphia’s Central Parkway location

These one- hour classes are discussion-based about bike safety specifically in Philadelphia. Topics covered include rules of the road, bike laws, proper equipment, biking infrastructure, and safe riding tips.

For anyone interested, URB classes can be followed up with tests rides, so participants can get familiar with how the Indego bike share program works. Want to check it out? Head over to the Classes and Rides page on Indego’s website and follow the link to sign up!
