DESCRIPTION:Taken from the original event posting: \nJoin Kevin Roche\, Fairmount Park Conservancy staff member\, hike leader\, and Trolley Trail enthusiast for a hike through the park’s fascinating past and present! The Fairmount Park Trolley operated in East & West Park from 1896-1946 providing a reliable and enjoyable means of accessing park amenities. Explore the physical remains of what is now a hidden trolley network including massive stone tunnels and bridge abutments along this 4 mile loop hike. \nMore about the Trolley Trail: \nFairmount Park Conservancy–along with its key partners at Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (PPR) and the Belmont Plateau Trails Alliance (BPTA)–have been working to develop the Trolley Trail while pursuing key goals: reducing adverse impacts on habitat and preserving the single track mountain bike trails. The new Trolley Trail will wend its way close to bridge abutments and through tunnels dating back to 1897. Future phases will bring signage\, maps and trail blazes to guide users through the vast reaches of West Fairmount Park once only accessible via the trolley. DESCRIPTION:Join Indego’s Community Ambassador team at Bartram’s Garden on Sunday\, August 27th from 10 AM to 4 PM for a day filled with biking and fun! This event will include games\, prizes\, activities\, refreshments\, a chance to meet the Indego Ambassadors\, and more! All participants will receive an exclusive Indego swag bag and a complimentary 30-day Indego pass. \nThis event is family friendly! There will be balance bikes for small children\, a mini obstacle course\, and youth learn to ride and urban riding basics classes. \nBike the grounds with a group. Join one of four group rides led by our friends at the Bicycle Coalition that will loop around Bartram’s Garden during the event. The rides will start at 10:30 AM\, 11:30 AM\, 12:30 PM\, and 2:00 PM departing from the Lindbergh & Wheeler Indego Station. Helmets will be provided for all group ride participants.
