DESCRIPTION:On May 2nd\, 2025 5pm-11pm\, the inaugural Eraserhood Fest will kick off during Philly’s First Friday\, bringing together locals and visitors for an immersive celebration of the history\, culture\, and community of one of Philadelphia’s most iconic neighborhoods — Eraserhood (also known as Callowhill-Chinatown North or the Loft District). \nFrom its industrial roots to its modern-day transformation\, Eraserhood remains one of Philadelphia’s hidden gems. Once home to bustling factories and workshops\, the area was immortalized by filmmaker David Lynch\, whose iconic 1977 experimental film Eraserhead was directly inspired by his harrowing and exhilarating experience living in the neighborhood. Today\, it’s a vibrant\, multifaceted community filled with residential spaces\, restaurants\, cafes\, beer gardens\, nightlife\, parks\, and public art that tell the stories of the people who have shaped the neighborhood over the years.\nEraserhood Fest will bring the area’s rich history and unique character to life through a dynamic mix of local music\, cultural activities\, food\, art\, and interactive experiences.
