DESCRIPTION:From their event page:  \nThis Adult Learn-to-Ride class is a 2-hour session for adults or mature teens who are ready to ride a bicycle! This will be an outdoor lesson along a quiet lane. Depending on weather and availability\, this class may be moved to the Azalea Garden to encourage social distancing. An additional $14.04 (including tax) fee is paid directly to the Wheel Fun rental kiosk at the start of class for the bicycle rental. This rental fee is not included in the non-refundable registration ticket\, which are available on a sliding scale from $15 – $35. \nHeight Restriction: bicycles rented for this class cannot accommodate students under 5’2″. \nStudents will learn how to balance\, pedal\, start\, stop\, steer\, and properly adjust a helmet. Most participants will learn to ride during the class\, but even if you don’t\, you’ll leave with a simple method to teach yourself. \n* SEPTA bus routes 7\, 32\, 38\, 43\, 48 stop closest to the Art Museum. \n* Parking is available at Lloyd Hall lot\, along Sedgley Drive\, or in the Art Museum garage. \n* Minors in this class must have an adult (over 18) sign the waiver for them.

DESCRIPTION:Join Audubon Mid-Atlantic as we document the many organisms that call Discovery Center their home. The City Nature Challenge is an international effort for people to find and log plants and wildlife in cities. It’s an annual four-day global bioblitz at the end of April\, where cities collaborate to see what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal. Check in throughout the day to see live results on our TV. \nWe’ll start the day with Nature Journaling from 10-11am. Learn how to tie together creativity with scientific effort as we look for early-spring plants\, birds and other organisms. Journals and pencils will be provided\, but feel free to bring your own. We’ll also start with an iNaturalist app tutorial\, so you’re ready to trek through the trails. Let’s celebrate biodiversity\, and continue celebrating Earth Day! SUMMARY:Park after Dark: Moonwalk + Stargazing
DESCRIPTION:From their event page: \nJoin Fairmount Park Conservancy and astronomer/educator Buddy Muhler for a 1.5-mile guided moonwalk and telescope observation in West Fairmount Park. \nWe’ll start by using the moonlight to guide us on a hike of the historic Trolley Trail\, which roughly follows the route of the old Fairmount Park Trolley that operated from 1896-1946. Learn a little about the history of the trail and the nocturnal animals that call the park home. \nNext\, we’ll turn our attention to the sky with a guided moon and planet observation. Novice and experienced astronomers alike will be given insights and tips by experienced instructor Buddy Muhler. Each attendee will have the chance to travel close up to the moon’s surface by looking through Buddy’s high-powered telescope! Buddy will discuss the lunar cycles and point out interesting visible surface features such as dark gray mares (seas) and white reflective highlands. We’ll gaze at planets or stars and discuss other astronomical wonders of the night sky. \nIf you’re a lunar lunatic\, this is an evening not to miss!

Diamond St – register for an Indego bike \nRide Details:\nThe ride will be a 3.0-mile loop exploring East Fairmount Park and The Discovery Center. Participants will have an opportunity to explore the historical landmarks and green spaces of the park. Participants will be provided with binoculars to observe the flying birds in the park. This is a celebration of the International Day for Monuments and Sites worldwide on April 18th\, honoring heritage\, diversity\, community\, and the environment.  \nThis is a great opportunity to meet other beginner bikers or revisit biking if you haven’t been on one for a while.
