Indego Block Party & Group Ride for Literacy

Join The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, the 12th Philadelphia Police Department, the Kingsessing Free Library, and Indego for our FREE Bike Block Party to celebrate biking and the community. You will have a chance to ride as a group on Indego Electric bikes with police escorts stopping traffic. This ride is open to all ages and skill levels. We will be riding at a slow pace, beginning and ending at the block party festivities. The group ride will be happening at 10 A.M. – 12 P.M. with the Indego Block Party happening 12 P.M. – 3 P.M.
Participants will explore Southwest Philly, a segment of the East Coast Greenway, Bartram’s Garden Trail, and local parks on a 5.2-mile bike loop through the community.
Registered participants will receive the following:
-Free Custom Indego Helmet
-Free Swag and a drawstring bag
-Free Snacks and Water
-Free Indego 30-day pass
It is an easy-paced 30-45 minute ride with a midway break where participants can drink water, stretch, and enjoy the scenery. Please remember that our rides are for EVERYONE with varying levels of cycling experience; beginners and advanced riders are all welcome to join! Every ride is led by a trained staff member of the Bicycle Coalition and all participants are expected to follow the rules of the road.
-This ride will be beginner-friendly and at a leisurely pace
-Helmets will be provided for Indego riders
-Must be 14 to ride an Indego Bike, 16 to ride an Indego E-Bike
-Any participant under the age of 18, must have a signed liability waiver
-All participants must be able to ride a bicycle confidently and responsibly
Please let the ride leaders know about any medical conditions. Indego riders should plan to stay with the group for the entire ride.
*Height Restrictions: The bikes we use for the class are recommended for 5’2″ and up.
Note: All participants under the age of 18 must have their parent or legal guardian sign this permission slip/waiver digitally or a paper copy by the day of the event. If the participant does not have either form of the permission slip/waiver signed, they will not be able to participate in the Group Ride or Learn to Ride Class.
