Advocating for the community while organizing, and taking community rides is part of self-care and living to ensure a healthier lifestyle. So believes North Philadelphia advocate and Better Bike Share ambassador Malcolm Kenyatta. The Better Bike Share Partnership (BBSP) is an effort led by the City of Philadelphia that works to ensure that Indego is accessible to all Philadelphians.  Indego helps Philadelphians get to all kinds of places, and as we expand to new neighborhoods, we are working with partners to create opportunities for residents to connect with resources in their communities. Indego is new and exciting, and we are committed to offering educational opportunities to help everyone learn to use the system.

Thanks to the Better Bike Share Partnership, the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Transportation & Infrastructure Systems teamed up with the Office of Adult Education to run  digital skills training courses for adult learners that combine building digital skills with learning about Indego.

Last Spring’s program was so successful that Digital Skills and Bicycle Thrills is back in September. Participants will learn digital skills at their own pace while completing assignments related to Indego and bike sharing. They will also have the opportunity to participate in a group ride and learn safe cycling skills. Individuals who complete the program will receive a free six-month pass to Indego.

Sign up to participate in this free class by calling 1-844-446-3346!

Orientation Date:

Wednesday, October 5th, 5:30pm – 7:30pm

While visiting South Philly Indego stations, you may come across a wonderful woman who will greet you with a smile, and can give you the 411 on how to ride Indego. Ivonne Pinto, a hard working mother of one, migrated from the State of Puebla in Mexico 11 years ago, and currently resides in South Philadelphia. The newly-minted Better Bike Share Ambassador loves to be involved in a lot of community activities and finds herself volunteering with different organizations all over the city.
