Bicycle Transit Systems is a Philadelphia-based business that specializes in bike share launch, operations, and management. Comprised of the most experienced bike share operations team in the industry, Bicycle Transit Systems manages all operational elements of Indego, including bike and station maintenance, marketing, and customer service.

We’re launching a staff Q & A spotlight series to compliment the Indego Street Team and Ambassador spotlight series. These spotlights are an opportunity for you to learn more about the dream team that keeps Indego rolling. From bike mechanics and drivers, to customer service  and marketing, this is a wheel treat to get the inside scoop on the 30+ employees who make up Indego. “ICAN:BIKE” Using Indego to Support Mental Health Services Programming

The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is a non-profit advocacy and education organization working as part of the Better Bike Share Partnership to support bike share and biking education. Better Bike Share Partnership is funded by the JPB Foundation.

Transportation, physical activity, fresh air, I have diabetes, something to do with my son, spending time with others… These are the reasons identified by a group of individuals from Philadelphia mental health centers about why they would use Indego. We also found out that 96% wanted to ride a bike but needed some support to do so! So we decided to do something about it.

Scrolling through Instagram for the hashtag #RideIndego, it won’t be long before you come across photo evidence of Indego Ambassador Ella Best’s great community outreach work in South Philadelphia. Whether it be organizing community rides or taking individuals on a ride to the grocery store, Ella is doing her part to make sure that everyone in her community knows that Indego is for them.

Updates from Indego’s Better Bike Share Partnership Team

The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is a non-profit advocacy and education organization working as part of the Better Bike Share Partnership to support bike share and biking education. Better Bike Share Partnership is funded by the JPB Foundation.

At the end of last month Katie Monroe (left), Better Bike Share Outreach Manager, left the Bicycle Coalition to travel and pursue other dreams. You know her as the energetic spirit that lead the charge on Indego’s education classes and much of our combined outreach efforts. Patricia ‘Pati’ Gutierrez (middle) is also leaving. She’s moving to the West Coast to pursue her Master’s in Education. Pati is our Community Liaison and has done outreach on behalf of Indego to Latino communities. We will miss them tremendously. They have been wonderful assets to Indego and the Better Bike Share Partnership (BBSP).

At the same time, we are ecstatic to announce Waffiyyah Murray is the new BBSP Outreach Manager (right)! Waffiyyah was previously the Safe Routes Coordinator for the Bicycle Coalition and assisted Indego with outreach to kids and families. We are excited to have Waffiyyah officially join team Indego. Keep reading to learn a little more about her below.

Safety first! The City of Philadelphia is packed with people riding, walking, and driving at all hours of the day and night. Helmets are an easy first step to ensuring that you are riding safely whether on the streets or trails. Picking a helmet can be an overwhelming process, though, so the Indego staff is here to help!
