Biking & Birding Group Ride for International Day of Sites and Monuments

About the Ride:

The ride will be a slow-paced bicycle group ride involving 

     -Bird watching with The Discovery Center 
     -A historical  tour of East Fairmount Park with Fairmount Park Conservancy 

It begins and ends at two stations:

     -The Discovery Center Indego Station at N. 33rd St. and Reservoir Drive
     -Mander Recreational Indego Station at N.33rd St. and W. Diamond St

Ride Details:

The ride will be a 3.0-mile loop exploring East Fairmount Park and The Discovery Center. Participants will have an opportunity to explore the historical landmarks and green spaces of the park. Participants will be provided with binoculars to observe the flying birds in the park. This is a celebration of the International Day for Monuments and Sites worldwide on April 18th, honoring heritage, diversity, community, and the environment. 

This is a great opportunity to meet other beginner bikers or revisit biking if you haven’t been on one for a while. If you have your own bike and would like to join us for the ride, please click the link below: 

Every ride is led by a trained staff member of the Bicycle Coalition, and all participants are expected to follow the Rules of the Road.

     -This ride will be beginner-friendly and at a leisurely pace
     -Free Helmets will be provided for Indego riders
     -You must be 16 years of age to ride an Indego E-Bike
     -We will be riding with motor vehicles 
     -Water, snacks, and swag will be provided

Registration & Important Info:

Sign-up is required, and spaces are limited.  Please let ride leaders know about any medical conditions. Indego riders should plan to stay with the group for the entire ride.

*Height Restrictions: The bikes we use for the class are recommended for 5’2″ and up. Please let us know if you’d like to come out with your bike.
