With Philadelphia preparing for a busy and exciting year ahead, Indego is continuing to expand bike share access to support both everyday trips and citywide moments. Let’s take a look back at our 2025 expansion highlights and share what’s planned for 2026.
2025 Expansion Snapshot
2025 was a record-breaking year for Indego. Riders took more than 1.3 million trips – our highest total since launch. We expanded the system with 36 new stations and 530 docking points, bringing bike share to Richmond, Roxborough, and Wynnefield, and added capacity in Kingsessing and Fishtown to meet continued ridership growth.
We also rolled out IKE Smart City Kiosks at ten stations across the system. These interactive, touchscreen kiosks share public service information, local resources, and art, like Andre Chaney’s digital illustration Day Dreamin’, while also generating advertising revenue to support Indego’s operations and future expansion. Tap through a touchscreen kiosk the next time you’re out riding around Philly.
Expanding Access in 2026
Our 2026 expansion plan builds on last year’s progress, introducing service to five new areas while continuing efforts in select expansion zones from 2025. This year’s expansion focus includes:
- Germantown
- West Kensington
- Southwest Philadelphia
- Wynnefield Heights
- Packer Park / FDR Park
These expansion zones were selected based on a range of factors, including community interest, equity considerations, access to commercial corridors and everyday destinations, transit connectivity, and alignment with ongoing City efforts to improve street safety and bicycle infrastructure. Input from residents and community groups over several years helped inform these decisions, alongside planning efforts to link existing and new service areas.
By the end of 2026, we aim to add approximately 40 new stations and 800 docks to our system. In addition to expanding into new neighborhoods, we’ll focus on adding capacity in Center City and other high-ridership areas to support growing demand.

Please note: the dark blue 2026 expansion areas on the map above represent geographic growth planned for 2026. Specific station planning is an ongoing process with our partners and community stakeholders.
