The Better Bike Share Partnership (BBSP) is an effort led by the City of Philadelphia that works to ensure that Indego bike share is accessible to all Philadelphians. The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is a nonprofit advocacy and education organization working as part of the Better Bike Share Partnership to support bike share and biking education.

The Better Bike Share Partnership is funded by the JPB Foundation.

Alan Lomax was born and raised in North Philadelphia’s Strawberry Mansion area. He has been cycling and encouraging others to cycle for most of his life and recently joined our team as a Better Bike Share Ambassador. I recently sat down with Mr. Lomax to talk about his life and what motivates him to promote biking.

Docking Your Bike & “Ride Close Confirmation”

Sometimes you’re in a rush or busy chatting with friends and you miss the “3 beeps” that indicate your bike has been successfully checked in after you’ve completed your trip. Have no fear! There are two ways to ensure that your ride has been completed and your bike has been docked successfully.

Station Update: Philadelphia Museum of Art Station Removal for Made in America

Due to the “Made in America Festival” September 3rd and 4th, the Philadelphia Museum of Art Station will be temporarily removed. The station will be unavailable beginning Wednesday, August 24th and will return on Wednesday September 7th.

Meet the Team: Morale & Happiness Officer Riley

Bicycle Transit Systems is a Philadelphia-based business that specializes in bike share launch, operations, and management. Comprised of the most experienced bike share operations team in the industry, Bicycle Transit Systems manages all operational elements of Indego, including bike and station maintenance, marketing, and customer service.

How long have you been part of the Indego team?
I’ve been a regular on Team Indego for ruff-ly 8 months so since January 2016.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your position.
I’ve had the hard task of being both adorable and ensuring everyone’s work day is both positive and productive. When I’m not taking naps, I’m checking that the entire warehouse is running as a well oiled machine. If there are snacks available I have to ensure they are quality. It’s a lot of work, but some dog has to do it.
