Riding Into the Future: Indego Celebrates 8 Years in Philadelphia

This April marks eight years since we rolled out the first set of Indego bicycles in Philadelphia. Since then, the program has become an integral part of the city’s transportation landscape, offering residents and visitors a convenient, affordable, and sustainable way to get around. Following Up With Our Fall/Winter 2022 BBSP Mini-Grant Recipients

This winter, the Better Bike Share Partnership (BBSP) awarded four mini-grants of $1,000 to non-profit organizations in Philadelphia serving their community. This year, our grants went towards community building through produce boxes, cultural events, homeless outreach, and building a small greenhouse. Indego is grateful for the partnership of Get Fresh Daily, the Mexican Cultural Center, Doing Our Part Eclectically (DOPE), and A New Dawn, Inc, and their trust in bringing us into their communities. OTIS and Indego Release New ‘Indego Equity Plan’

The City of Philadelphia’s Office of Transportation, Infrastructure, and Sustainability (OTIS) and Indego have released the 2023 Indego Equity Plan! This five-year plan intends to establish a path for Philadelphia’s Indego bike share program to continue leading the way in equitable bike share growth and operation. In this blog, we’ll review Indego’s past equity efforts, share the goals defined in the Indego Equity Plan, and provide a link to the entire PDF document.
