Indego’s Winter 2026 Mini Grant recipients used funding to bring neighbors together, support youth development, and expand access to joyful, community-centered programming across Philadelphia. From bike safety and educational workshops to family celebrations, cultural learning, and service projects, each event created meaningful opportunities for connection, learning, and shared experiences. Together, these programs reflect the wide reach of Indego’s public investment and the many ways community organizations are helping neighbors thrive.
Mill Creek Advisory Council
The Mill Creek Advisory Council used the Indego mini-grant to support youth engagement, community wellness, and bike safety through events including gaming activities, tutoring, and social hours. The grant helped purchase six 10-speed bikes to use as incentives and prizes, and the Better Bike Share Partnership provided bike safety instruction and training to support safe riding habits. Over a hundred people attended the six events, and the grant also helped cover snacks and beverages that kept participation strong.
Esperanza Health Center
Esperanza Health Center used the Indego mini-grant to host Cookies and Carols, a holiday family engagement event at The CORE that brought neighbors together through crafts, cookie decorating, caroling, and a photo booth. About 90 community members attended, and the event was designed to strengthen connections and celebrate the season.
Young Chances Foundation
Young Chances Foundation used the Indego mini grant to teach students about Caroline LeCount, a trailblazing educator and civil rights activist from Philadelphia. Students took part in learning sessions, created projects, and presented them at a school-wide assembly at Stephen Girard Elementary School. The event centered student voices and showcased their work through posters, presentations, and creative projects. Indego funded the educational materials, project supplies, assembly costs, and program coordination that made the experience possible.
South Philly Junior Stakeholders
South Philly Junior Stakeholders hosted three cancer-awareness pop-up events through Walking Pink365/Walking Colors, where participants decorated and dedicated shoes in honor of loved ones affected by cancer. Events took place across the city, serving more than seventy people. Young people helped with activities, while resource partners shared cancer information, and the group provided meals, crafts, raffle prizes, and swag bags.
Beloved Care Project
Beloved Care Project hosted youth workshops and a community event centered on love, self-expression, and intergenerational connection. The workshops included affirmation art, conversations about love, and repurposing jeans and T-shirts, while the main event featured an open mic, fashion show, spoken word, dance, craft tables, and resource tables. Together, the activities created a supportive space for young people and community members to share their voices and talents.
Sanctuary Farm Philadelphia
Sanctuary Farm Philadelphia hosted an MLK Day community planting event that combined hands-on gardening, creativity, and a shared meal. Twenty-five community members participated by planting seeds, painting pots, and learning about gardening and future community garden opportunities. The event also included food and educational support about gardening in Philadelphia.
All Mentees on Board
All Mentees on Board used funds from the Indego mini-grant to take sixteen girls and two college students on an after-school trip to Longwood Gardens to see the winter lights. The trip gave participants a chance to enjoy a memorable winter experience while deepening their understanding of the natural world.
Limitless Ladies Ministries LLC
Limitless Ladies Ministries LLC hosted a workshop with hands-on activities, food, refreshments, games, and health and wellness resources in “love bags.” The event also included resources for teens, women, and babies, creating a supportive and joyful atmosphere for participants. The workshop offered a fun and uplifting space for families to learn, share, and connect.
Families Forward Philadelphia
Families Forward Philadelphia used the Indego mini-grant to restore and reopen Ruby’s Place, an indoor play space for children in their family shelter. The reopening celebration on March 4th included decorations, treats, and a refreshed room with a rug, toy storage, a table, and a mural decal. Families enjoyed the revived space while children played and read.
Greater Philadelphia YMCA
Greater Philadelphia YMCA hosted an MLK Day of Service event at the West Philadelphia YMCA on January 19, 2026, with support from Indego. Twenty-five participants, ages six to sixty+, volunteered to clean YMCA spaces and honor Dr. King through service and reflection. The event also included outreach to St. Barnabas School 8th graders and the general public, and grant funds covered cleaning, PPE, and food.
